The latest super sneaker from Nike, the Nike AlphaFly 3, has already set new records. Kelvin Kiptum from Kenya broke the marathon world record during the Chicago Marathon with a time of 2:00:35 while wearing the AlphaFly 3.
Nike unveiled the sneaker shortly after the groundbreaking performance and confirmed that it would be available for purchase in January 2024.

Starting with the debut of the Nike Alphafly NEXT% in 2019, the Alphafly series has made a mark. Elite marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge achieved an unofficial marathon time of 1:59:40 in Vienna wearing the Alphafly NEXT%. The sneaker was eventually released in 2020 for $250. Following this, the Alphafly 2 was launched in 2022 with an initial retail price of $275, which later increased to $285 for recent releases.
Both the Alphafly 1 and Alphafly 2 were constructed with a lightweight Atomknit upper, carbon fiber plate, forefoot Zoom Air pods, and ZoomX cushioning.
The upcoming Alphafly 3 is equipped with dual Nike Air Zoom units, a newly introduced full-length carbon-fiber Flyplate, a fresh design for the upper Atomknit 3.0, heel pods for added cushioning in the Achilles area, and a redesigned lacing system incorporating eye stays into the upper.
The Nike Alphafly 3 “Protro” is set to release for $280 on January 4, 2024, available at Nike.com and select retailers.
